Painting, by its nature is typically a solitary endeavor. Live painting brings the Artist into the realm of live performance as accompaniment during concerts, incorporating the musician's immediacy and energy. The resulting artwork which is created live is both planned and improvisational. The restrictions of time and space, provide an alternative to the more studied and deliberate approach of traditional painting.
During the past ten years, Paul Whitehead has performed live paintings accompanied by many great Musicians including Nektar, Brand X, Phideaux, The Musical Box, Eclat, Joe Denizon and Fernando Perdamo. He has also accompanied world musicians while creating Mandalas from colored sand. The creation of these Artworks are often documented with time-lapse photography, providing a unique view into the creative process.
Paul Whitehead is available for creating live paintings and sand mandalas for concerts, parties and other live events, if you are interested, please send us an email at info@paulwhitehead.com
